About Drama:
Shibusawa Eiichi was born in 1840 to a family of farmers. He grew up helping his family with their work, which was to manufacture and sell the production of indigo and also the production of silk. He left his hometown at the age of 23 and started working for the government.
He later traveled to Paris and learned about banking. Upon his return to Japan, he helped build the first modern bank in Japan. He ended up becoming a founder or supporter of some 500 companies and was involved with some 600 public services, including education for women.
